PROCRASTINATION

Just a short thought about something that can take an age if you are waiting for something or someone to act:
This takes me back to my post on 95% thought and 5% do! So often we ask each other to help out or perhaps not to forget to do something just at the time when we feel more like getting our heads down than doing anything!

I had to share this message received from Abraham who explains the dilemma in such a succinct way that satisfies both of us. And as I forwarded and commented, ‘This is so us’, and so it is! Both having been accused of procrastination in the past, I felt that many of our readers would feel similarly too and here is the reason why we act or react the way we do:

When you feel enthusiasm to do something, it means you’ve lined up the Energy, and you are being inspired to take action from that point of alignment. When you don’t feel like doing it, don’t push yourself, because your effort is not worth it. But, when you line up the Energy, the feeling of procrastination goes away.

Fantastic, many thanks Abraham, now we understand why that 95% is so important in lining up before we start!

Love your posts, David, and love the wisdom of dear old Abraham.

Yes .. I have been accused of procrastinating … telling myself that tomorrow is an other day, closing my eyes and turning my back to what obviously had to be done at that very moment.

There are duties one can not push away while the consequences of this non acting would be too serious, they do not permit any procrastination. Other chores can easily be shuffled under the carpet and dealt with tomorrow or day after.

Suffering of M.E. I never know when I will have the energy to do my share of the household tasks, so I have had to learn to do the job as soon as I feel up to it, while tomorrow might be worse

So, my dear friends, readers of this post, I have come to realize that there is quite a difference between procrastinating ( which is bad??) and not feeling up to do what I should do knowing that the time is not right.(which is good !!).

Chores done with enthusiasm are no longer felt as burdens but rather as new experiences and the results can be quite enjoyable, and I do know what I am talking about.

Just this little detail : Do you realize why groups of workers in what we still consider the 3rd World, sing together ?.. Remember the famous Volga Boat song .of the men pulling the boats along the banks of the mighty Russian river,!!! Things are so much easier when one sings.

Music is still a good accompaniment and there is no need to be picking cotton to sing Negro Spirituals. There is always a song in your heart waiting to make life easier and give you the incentive not to procrastinate (for too long!).

May all your days be joyful and may love and light always shine in your hearts.

    Eugene.
